President Messner convened the public meeting at 7:25 a.m.

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Karen Visser, to enter into public session.

Board members and Superintendent McKay discussed the 2016-17 Board of Education Meeting Calendar.

Recommended Action: Personnel

Instructional

Dr. McKay made the following recommendations:

Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby authorizes the attached Agreement for Services for the individual listed below effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education:

Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education approves an Interim CSE/CPSE Chairperson Contract between the District and Kristie Evers, effective August 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education, and authorizes the Board of Education President to execute the contract.

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Karen Visser to approve item 1.1 Recommended Action, Personnel, Instructional, as amended. Motion carried 5-0.
 


ADDENDUM

  

   

Dr. McKay made the following Addendum recommendations:

Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby appoints the individuals listed as per diem substitute teachers to be employed on an "as needed" basis:

Richard Goodman

Resignation for Purposes of Retirement:

Mr. Richard Goodman, Teacher of Science, Horace Greeley High School, effective June 30, 2016.

Moved by Victoria Tipp, seconded by Alyson Gardner to approve Addendum Items 1.1 Recommended Action, Personnel, Instructional, in one omnibus motion. Motion carried 5-0.

Dr. McKay made the following recommendations:

Resignation:

Francesca Zacarolli, Office Assistant - Automated Systems at the Education Center, effective July 10, 2016.

Appointment:

Francesca Zacarolli, Senior Office Assistant - Automated Systems, 0.71 FTE, at the Education Center, effective July 11, 2016.

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Karen Visser to approve all items in 1.2 Recommended Action, Personnel, Non-Instructional, in one omnibus motion. Motion carried 5-0.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education approves the 2016-17 Board of Education Meeting Schedule. [Tabled at the June 15, 2016 Board of Education Public Meeting]

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Victoria Tipp that the Board of Education approves the 2016-17 Board of Education Meeting Schedule, as presented. Motion carried 5-0.

Moved by Alyson Gardner to enter into Executive Session to discuss the employment of a particular person(s). Seconded by Victoria Tipp. Motion carried 5-0.

Moved by Alyson Gardner to reconvene the Public Session. Seconded by Karen Visser. Motion carried 5-0.

Instructional

Dr. McKay made the following recommendations:

Appointment: Probationary

Ms. Erin Jaynes, Assistant Principal, Roaring Brook Elementary School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Assistant Principal K-4 effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 20200, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.

Appointment: Other

Ms. Kristie Evers, Interim CSE/CPSE Chairperson, District wide, effective August 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 (or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education.

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Victoria Tipp to approve items 1.1 Recommended Action, Personnel, Instructional, Erin Jaynes and Kristie Evers. Motion carried 5-0.

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Karen Visser, to enter into Executive Session. Motion carried 5-0.

Moved by Alyson Gardner, seconded by Victoria Tipp, to reconvene the Public Session. Motion carried 5-0.
